I always considered the whole give an inch they'll take a mile concept pretty fallacious, but recently I am seeing more and more examples of activists running over social advancements and using them as an excuse of why it can never stop. Even unconditional surrender from the other side is not enough as their purpose as activists is not to achieve something, but to keep fighting their front no matter how many of their demands are fulfilled.

The war is not meant to be won, but to be continuous. Victory is an illusion we can never achieve.

That's the reason why there are only vague ideas. Like the time back in 2013 when Brazilians took the streets to protest "all this that is in there." and "all corruption"(real quotes often used when explaining the reasons behind the protest) as if it would be possible to end corruptions and no more explanations of what is the "all this that is in there".
