All I am seeing lately is the Opioid crisis and how or how not legalizing marijuana will help people dealing with opioid addiction.

Now being very close to someone that has had a very very rough life due to opioid addiction I say bring it! My best friend got into and accident at work (top bolt sheered off a strut while in the machine and strut smashed his face) and they pumped him full of pain killers before, during, and after his needed surgeries... Well without saying the addiction was there after the perscriptions ran out and heroin made its way into his life. Shortly after the police and so on.

Research in colorado shows that Colorado’s legalization of recreational cannabis sales and use resulted in a 0.7 deaths per month (b = −0.68; 95% confidence interval = −1.34, −0.03) reduction in opioid-related deaths. This reduction represents a reversal of the upward trend in opioid-related deaths in Colorado.

Many still believe marijuana is a gateway drug and one you smoke the devil's lettuce you are never the same. I feel if you are already hooked on much more deadly drugs than it can only help.

I have lost a friend and hope I do not lose another one to this horrible situation we have. Any thoughts?
