We Haven’t Been Able to Grow

Two Michigan farmers are in between a rock and a hard place, trying to sell 17 acres of land. The certified organic produce is sold between 3 Farmer's Markets and has 180 community supported agriculture members.

MiBiz -- We haven’t been able to grow at the rate we’d like to see the CSA grow and the rate we can grow production at the farm,” Brandt said. “But what we’ve done to make up for that slack is to keep finding and adding great farmers markets.”

When it comes to her reason for transitioning selling the company, Brandt is quick to quell any concern that the farm is no longer economically viable.

The operation generates $200k in annual sales and the primary vegetable farm is being offered for $195k.

Brandt and Cary intend to stay on for one season following the sale to help onboard the next owners transition, while they eat for free until they find new jobs.
