Quick way to organize your living space.

in #organize7 years ago

Hi Everyone!

I wanted to share quick ways to declutter and reorganize a room in your house.
You will need:
Three boxes that have a purpose:
1.Anything that belongs to another room
2.To be put back where it belongs(same room)
3.Give Away/Sell
Two bags for garbage and recycling
Post it notes to label

  1. Choose a living space -The goal is to find out what activities happen in the room you would like to declutter. Eliminating things that are not in use.

  2. If you feel overwhelmed take it one section at a time. Find and label where you would like certain things. This will create a habit and will bring stress levels down from placing things in a "SAFE" place, so safe you can't even find it. lol

Sorting it out using your boxes-

  1. Anything that doesn't belong in that room (example: toys in the kitchen can be put in this box).
  2. Putting it back anything for that room ready to be put in its designated place.
  3. Giving away box can be anything that doesn't bring you joy, anything you haven't used in the past 6 months and won't be using it in the next month..

As you declutter it will be easy to go over quickly with a duster and vacuum. Deep cleaning can be done for another day.

Keeping it up will be easier with the designated areas. This should cut down any time you would use by having to "find" what you are looking for. I was my worst enemy "trying to remember where I placed something."

I decluttered my kitchen today and it feels really good. I plan on finishing my other rooms this week. Thank you for your time I hope this helps.
