This was an incredible piece of real, legitimate history from someone who lived it. Thanks for sharing! A close friend of mine I worked with also served in Vietnam, Bob was his name. He obviously made it out of the war but his wife, who also worked with us, had said Bob vehemently refused to talk about the war with anybody, his daughter or his wife. It was an incredibly damaging mark on society and the people who served in it. I think that's another part of why they don't institute the draft, that would mean more people who otherwise are not cut out for that type of stuff, would have memories and share information about how awful and wrong war is. It serves its purpose but aside from situations like world war 2, they are largely for the wrong reasons.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your friends, that's an awful thing to go through.
