I like appreciative and content people and I think it’s because I am an over-thinker and my conscience is really on the high side so I overthink everything. It’s not easy, I try as much as I can not too but it rarely works. Not until I can make perfect sense of the situation.
So 2 months back a colleague of mine got married and she had been pestering me to help her get some wears. I told her I would get things I’d wear myself and she agreed as she always loved my high taste in fashion.
Fast-forward to when I got her the clothes. She loved each and every one of them — tops, jumpsuit, jacket. Then some weeks later (after her wedding) she started complaining about how one style of the jumpsuit was outdated. I was stupefied. Like, you freaking said you loved it and now you don’t? Are you fine? 🙄 then she goes ahead and says “it’s my cousin that said it’s outdated”. I wanted to his so loudly but I just decided to keep my calm. O wanted to say “since your cousin knows all about fashion and an outdated wear, why not bog her to go to the market and select wears for you, abi? 🤷♀️”
I just let it go, with the option of ‘never’ buying clothes for her. Just myself and she can admire them all she wants.
Then anytime I put on a jumpsuit (which I do about 2/3times a week. I really love them 🙈) she would say “you didn’t get me this kind of fine jumpsuit o”. I’d just smile. And not show her ‘crazy’.
Anyway I bought 2 similar jumpsuits with very similar shades and decided to sell one to her if and only she tries it on, likes it and is ready to pay. And that’s what I told her. No more buying cloth specifically for her. If she doesn’t want it, I’d rock it well and I am 100 and 1 percent sure she’ll almost want to rip it off me with her eyes. Or I could even give my sister. She’ll look so good in it.
That ends my rant for today 😁. You see how this has been playing over repeatedly in my mind for over 3months? I know I can’t be the only overthinker.
