What is Paleo?

Paleo is about eating what we were designed to eat. It is the way that we as humans ate before agricultural practices were introduced. The theory is that once we started to eat foods that were designed to feed the masses through industrialised food production and processing, we started to get sick. The food that we were eating was no longer nutritionally rich and lacked the nutrients we needed for good health.

The lifestyle is full of nutritious foods that keep you energised and provides the correct nutrients that keep your body functioning properly.

Foods that can be eaten:-
• Meats including:- Lamb, Beef, Pork, Poultry, Organ Meats
• Seafood
• Vegetables
• Fruits
• Nuts and Seeds
• Healthy fats: including Coconut Oil, Avocado Oil, & Olive Oil
• Eggs

Paleo Benefits

Some benefits can be seen relatively quickly when you change to a Paleo lifestyle. Others may take a lot longer as toxins and other nasties are removed from your body.

• Energised Lifestyle
• Reduced allergies
• Stable blood sugar levels
• Improved sleep
• Increase immunity
• Lose weight or maintain a natural weight
• Reduced risk of Cardiovascular Disease, autoimmune diseases, and other diseases and conditions.
• Look and feel younger
• It is also great for those with intolerance's to particular types of foods
• And much more!

Paleo Lifestyle

Paleo isn't just about the food we eat. It is about making positive lifestyle choices that improve stress, general health, and how we live our life

Other factors that are important to consider when thinking about Paleo are:-
• Exercise
• Eating patterns
• Mindset related to food and lifestyle
• Managing stress, work-life balance, and the family
• Thinking about health as a "whole", not just food and fitness
• Ensuring quality sleep patterns
• And so much more.

By focusing good quality Paleo foods and managing our lifestyle we can make the change to better health. Focus on these things and you will see a difference.

Sort:

paleo = fruitarian. No meat, no cow tit.

So I'm guessing you folllow a Paleo diet? And have you noticed those benefits you list? Just curious

Yes, definitely. I have been Paleo for over 5 years now. I love it. I can't imagine living any other way. Yes, I have noticed all of those benefits. I know that I am healthier and putting the right foods into my body.

Nice, glad to hear! I'm not Paleo but generally eat healthy and I totally know what you mean... then when I do go off and eat junk food or drink a bunch of alcohol, which my body isn't used to, I can definitely feel the difference.

So true...Its all about the journey and learning about what our bodies can and can't tolerate if you want to indulge every now and again

Thinking about health as a "whole", not just food and fitness

I think this is the most important mindset to have, it isn't doing one or two things right, but considering everything you do holistically. Nothing beats unprocessed nutrient rich whole foods.

Yes....completely agree. Our health is so important and we can make every effort to make the right choices in our lives.

Right on, always good to see people realizing that Paleo is way more than just a diet. Good work!

Great article, I like, that you mentioned, that paleo is more than just a diet, it really is a lifestyle. I live on paleo diet for a while now and for me it is the best for my body and health.

I believe the paleo diet is the way we were supposed to be eating all along! Before fast/convenience foods came around, fruits and veggies and sources of clean protein were all we had! It is so crazy how much society has changed in the "food" department for the worse. I eat a paleo diet and I have never felt better!
