The Israeli army has acknowledged attacking a rescue team in Rafah, killing 15 members of the Palestinian Red Crescent and Civil Protection. Their bodies were buried with bulldozers. The UN condemned the massacre, but the international community remains passive as Israel continues its ground operation to forcibly evacuate the population.
The truth is now undeniable: the Israeli army admitted to opening fire on a rescue team sent to save lives in Rafah's Tal al-Sultan area. They did so without remorse, describing the massacre as a mere "error," as if it were a technical malfunction or an accidental deviation.
This was a coldly calculated operation designed to destroy every trace of humanity in Gaza.
Fifteen rescue workers from the Palestinian Red Crescent and Civil Protection were killed in what appears to be a targeted execution. It was not a combat situation or an "unfortunate incident" amid crossfire. The team was in ambulances and fire trucks, clearly marked, just like the many humanitarian convoys that had been targeted in previous months.
Despite phone calls to the Israeli authorities, despite the procedures that have governed rescue operations in the Strip for months, the rescuers were surrounded by tanks and mowed down by bullets. Then silence, darkness, erasure.
For five days Israel prevented access to the area. No help, no verification. Then, faced with international pressure, the UN obtained minimal access and found only the carcasses of ambulances riddled with bullets and partially buried by the ground, the remains of a single body, dismembered.
According to the Red Crescent, Israel deliberately hid the bodies with bulldozers and heavy machinery. A brutal technique reminiscent of clandestine executions, ethnic cleansing covered in rubble and mud.
