Finally a somewhat redeemable episode. Not bad having 2/8.

In this episode we get a better idea about why these Romulans are so die-hard to destroy intelligent synthetic life. Seems like this is where sci-fi is going. AI is going to kill us all. Apparently this happened to a long lost civilization and the Romulans have a cult that is sworn to protect this from ever happening again.

This Star Trek universe is using swear words left and right; including admirals. Seems there's a lot of moral degradation in this new generation. I remember the novelty of DATA originally saying the word "oh shit". In any case, the fem Admiral admits Picard was 'right' and will give him support on Deep-Space-12.

The idiot here realizes she made a mistake murdering her former boyfriend / genius android guy. She's now back on the 'team' of rag-tag losers who really have no idea what they are doing. In the mean-time their 'tale' Romulan who has been shadowing them is back on their trail.

This is where things get interesting. Seven of Nine makes her second cameo and decides to take over the borg cube. Unfortunately the Romulans realize she Cube ship is being taken over and they jettison many of the 'drones'. Seven of Nine becomes some-what of a Borg Queen and commands the remaining Borg.

Data's daughter begins to have a better idea of what she is, and perhaps the reason why everyone is out to kill her.

Picard takes the command seat but then realizes how old and decrepit he is. He doesn't even know how to take command because the contorls are different. They really do want to 'retire' this character.

As the Borg take over the cube, the Romulan AI killer makes a dastardly escape in order to track the runaway 'destroyer'; data's daughter. Apparently the last AI purge happened over 200,000 years ago and this was the vision the Romulan's were given.

8/10

Howdy sirbearbear! I've been watching this too, I think it's pretty decent!

So, will "Picard" be a show named after the ship like all the other Star Trek NG?

They have thoroughly disgraced this old actor, after that, all that is left is to throw him on the trash heap. Are they really that cold?
