PALcoin decimal precision changed to 3

in #palnet5 years ago

Please note that the decimal precision for PALcoin has changed. You can now send 0.001 PALcoin to someone and trading will be this precise as well. We apologize for the earlier inconvenience. You'll now be able to get rewards that are in fractions making it easier for people with fewer staked PAL to earn rewards.

We see this as a highly democratic change. It's the first to be changed. There may be problems. Please be patient if any difficulties arise because of this change.

Happy Steeming on palnet.io!

I am still not seeing a fractional vote yet. I have voted @bitcoinflood, @coolguy222 and @phoenixwren's comment. The upvote value is still not in fractions. It is showing some wild values: 24 PAL, 11 PAL and 11 PAL. Also, the total upvote on this post is showing 2478 PAL. Vote values are varying all the time. It looks like there are still lots of bugs.

I was watching my PAL last night and it was doing the same.
9 PAL one minute, then 0 PAL then back up.
Probably because of the fork......
Hang on tight LOL 😊

@taskmaster4450 was showing some wild numbers in his post about it, but when I looked at my PALnet, it looked okay. So maybe there is some adjustment time needed.

Most likely going to be off and weird for a bit as the background workers catch up give it till tomorrow I would think 😀

Funny story with the lack of precision support. When I built the claimdrop feature initially, I spent ages writing and rewriting my code because I thought I had a bug, turns out some of the claimants were entitled to fraction rewards (eg 56.2) and some users were not, and the errors weren't really giving any info until I realised the precision didn't allow it, haha.

Yeah bring it on. ❤️

I will wait and see how it all develops.

Bit sad that I lost all benefit after spending 50 PAL promoting a post and had all the returns wiped out.

Including the 50 PAL?
The current (2019.06.21, 23:15 CEST) last price of PAL is 0.35101 Steem, which means that you lost 17.550 Steem worth of tokens, based on the current last price of the PAL token.
I am not a moderator nor an administator, only a simple/regular user, but maybe you should contact the Minnow Support Project on Discord on the palnet-msp-help channel. Maybe they can do something about it.

At first, I was like DAMNNNNN... Then I figured was some kind of bug. 😢

Awesome! This means my votes will now start counting for something!!! :)

Good update, may the force be with PALcoin

I've not been able to stake any PAL since this change. I'm not sure if the decimals have something to do with it. I get a transaction error:

Error: Error with tx: ["TypeError: Cannot read property 'trim' of undefined"]

But it is nice to see the decimals in the rewards now. EDIT: I just tried it again and it worked this time.

Thanks for the update.

This is an exciting update and am very glad!

I think it's a good update. The only possible issue I've noticed is that I was supposed to receive a reward of 1.00 PAL for a comment I had made, but when the payout came instead I received 0.001 PAL, even though the comment was still showing a payout of 1.00 PAL.

@minnowsupport . I am turning on all my rewards even if they are few.
