How's it going? Are you still here? Is anyone reading this post? Did the title actually help you hear the cow in the picture greeting you?
The good news is that HF21 and HF22 went much better than HF20. In fact, we didn't have to replay, so no data was lost. Also, we were only down for a few hours. That's a BIG improvement! So don't have a cow, just do like the cow above and have a snack... and maybe a haircut.
I know that some snapshots can yield highly amusing results, especially if taken at just the right time. (See the picture above.) I was curious the affect that the HFs had on curation, so I looked at the SteemWorld entry for a post shortly after putting it up. I was intrigued.
I'm not saying that -24.75% curation is bad, I'm just saying that's not the outcome we were looking for after getting a 100% boost in curation rewards. On the bright side, the burned portion of the post plus my share were almost 125% of the rewards, so good for everyone else!
The payout has since improved and curators are now getting around 48% of the post value. Still, it was a perplexing and intriguing time to be alive.
Only time will tell if it was a smart investment to stay powered up and HODLing Steem. It's been quite the drop from the top, but it might be worth it if the powers that be are correct. It's likely too soon to have enough data to tell if the increase in curation is bringing new investment, but hopefully it will start getting Steem off the launch pad. Forget about the moon, let's just get higher than I can jump!
Have you noticed any oddities since the Hard Forks?

Still a few out and about leaving a comment here or there. That must be an Irish cow. Long red hair, or maybe a Viking cow. Little down time, lots of change and we still post, comment and more important vote.
!BEER have a beer to enjoy the weekend, if the bot is brewing that is. Some times it needs a nap.
Maybe it's a mix. Glad you're still around. Thanks for the beer token!
Why do I, "moooooo" at cows when I pass them in my car? Even with the window closed!
I don't know. I do the same thing though!

Do you already know our BEER CrowdfundingBEERtoken. Enjoy it!True facts. LOL
I am still seeing reports about how if you don't make above a certain amount (which I almost never make), you are punished and paid even less? But I suck eggs at math so I'm not sure how to compute that for myself.
A perplexing time to be alive for the math-challenged...

Hi phoenixwren the SHADE tokens are on the way.
Thanks for sharing SHADE

I think the number I saw was around $10. If you get above that, then you'll be paid more than you were before. If it's below, than in addition to getting 10% less to the rewards pool, you also lose 33% (75 down to 50) of your author rewards, and you get the haircut from the converging linear curve. You know it was a rich person who wrote that code.
You don't have to be math smart to know this is a bad deal for a majority of the Steem community. If someone shows me the math to refute that, I'll issue a retraction, but until then I'll just collect smaller rewards.
!SHADE 3
Aw geez the number I was seeing was $3something or $4something, if it's $10 then I'm really fucked.
And thanks, I haven't heard of the shade token before!
Well, even if it's $3, I'm not going to be able to get there. Good luck to us all, especially the smaller accounts.
Yeah, shade is what I'm going to try to use other than upvotes.
@themanwithnoname, In my opinion always it's not the moon, sometimes we have to taste the dust too and without tough experiences and changes we cannot taste beautiful success. Let's hope for the best.
