What drives to your mind when you hear the word “Successful”?
To be Successful. That’s one communal ambition each one of us want to attain in life. A person who finished a degree, landed a good job, have complete and happy family, and travels a lot are some of the qualities of a successful person.
According to Google Dictionary:
success is the accomplishment of an aim or purpose.
How to Become Successful?
For me, below are the main aspects to become successful.
1. Study
We all strive our very best to reach our goals in life and to reach that success we started working on it at a very young age. Remember going to school at the age of 5 to start preliminary classes to prepare us for higher grades? It is believed and we really see that those who have attained higher education have a better opportunity in terms of Job Landing. We study and strive hard at school so we will be able to finish our courses for our dream job.
2. Inner Attributes (Hard work, patience, perseverance and beliefs)
Some people are financially incapable to attend school. But what makes them successful? It is their hard work, patience, perseverance, and beliefs. Their efforts are multiple times, they have the longest patience, their perseverance and beliefs are firm. We know some famous millionaire like Mark Zackerburg, actors/ actresses, businessmen who were not able to finish their studies but they become successful.
Views and Stages of Success
1. Children’s View
I remember when I was a child, landing a job is my kind of success. So I yearn to finish school so that I can land a good job. This is similar to all other kids. As we were young, we did not have the sense of responsibility as we do not know what future will bring us. In our young minds, we saw the adults working, having fun and enjoying life. Thinking we want to be like them, we yearn to grow up fast and finish studies so we can have our independence. If you don't have the financial means, go with the inner one. It is the most powerful tool you can ever present.
2. Adult’s View (Unmarried)
At last! You graduated your bachelor’s degree and finally landed a job related/ unrelated to your course. At first you are happy as your dream to land a job is a great success. You will be happy for quite some time but as time goes by, you realized that you need to have your growth. You’re earning big and you are able to help your family financially but something is missing - and that’s your self-growth. And then to enable to reach career growth, you will try to get your masters or PHD. When you are single, you prioritized your self-growth over your income.
3. Adult (Family Person)
You have to help your family and if you are earning less, you will further seek other opportunities. In this stage, landing a job which gives you higher income will be your primary as your priorities have change as you have now your own family who depends in you. It is no longer yourself, but everything will be for your family. Earning big and being able to provide to your family and sent your kids to prestigious schools are your goals. And once your kids finishes their studies and land their jobs, until then, you will feel complete and accomplished.
Finally your children are successful and they too had boomed in their careers. They now have their own family and no longer relies in you. At this stage, you will decide if you will want to continue to work or use your saved money to put up a business if you want to retire. But things have change, your obligations were lessen. And you will feel the light feeling after all those years.
Success Is When You Produced a Success
Each individual have their own goals but when they initially attain their goal; the level of responsibility and priorities will change also. So the contentment was not there at the early ages. You grew up thinking you will become successful if you finish studies and land a job. But as you enter another responsibility, you realized that everything were just a preparations for the real battle in attaining your success. At the latest stage of your life, you realized that your dreams will be passed on to your kids and for you to become successful, you need to work hard and help them reach their dreams – your dreams. You will only feel complete and successful when you produce a successful person. And I guess, this is the real meaning of our existence. To being able to raise our children, lead and bring them to their success.
