Priming kids to live with no fear

in #parenting7 years ago

The first 7 years of our lives are about us being sponges, absorbing all around us.

This includes how we are spoken to, how our parents speak to each other, how our parents react to stress and how they react when things go wrong.
This all leads to children building a program for which will activate around the 7th year.

The brain in this period is in what's called "theta" mode, which is the state a hypnotist puts you into, to be able to suggest things to you, which you then act out or take on board to follow through to do.
That's what a child's brain then does, takes on all the information they are exposed to via their environment and words spoken to them and its super important this period builds in qualities of courage, determination, strength and bravery, which sets children up for success and living a life free of lack and limitation.
When the brain around the 7th year, kicks over into "beta" mode, it then begins to filter all the information stored. So it is here where the importance of how a child has been conditioned determines how they react, respond and behave to people, situations and circumstances in their life.
So......if you are a parent of a young child, how are you reacting around them when something isn't working out for example? Muttering frustrations, venting and showing it in words and actions? Because even if a child is looking like they are not listening or attentive, they are absorbing your reaction! So be calm, display a can do attitude and go with the flow attitude when things go wrong, there is always a solution and that will set a child up for success if this is their natural response to stress and obstacles in life!
Encouragement by using words based on effort, persistence, determination are key to building a "can do" program in a child. "I was so proud of you that you persisted with your xxxxxxx and by putting in the effort you were able to achieve xxxxxxx ". This type of praising sets a child up for success.
All in all, self observation and awareness of your behavior and reactions is a huge part of raising a child in their first precious 7 years of life.
Make it count :)IMG_1949.JPG

Nice that you're ephasizing the rolemodel role of parents. I live in a neighbourhood where a lot of really small children are already afraid of my very tiny dog because their mothers are scared :( sad to see

Thanks for the kind words. Exactly, that is unfortunate :(
