Tis the season of work holiday parties, after-party debauchery with co-workers, and, most importantly, all expenses covered on a company credit card.

The power one wields with a corporate card during the holiday season can be overwhelming. You head to your favorite watering hole and your eye immediately goes to the highest of shelves behind the bar. But what do you select? As an avid bourbon and scotch drinker, I have a good idea what I like, but that shelf is usually off limits outside of special occasions.

Fear not! I am here to give you some guidance - Macallan Edition #3.

Drink it. Love it. Let it be the perfect night cap to an all expenses paid trip to drunk town. Obviously, you could go with a Johnny Walker blue label, but let's not get too crazy, folks. The price wasn't completely ridiculous (~$25/glass) and my oh my is it great.

Our server last night actually called over another bartender to explain the Macallan limited releases, specifically the Editions 1-3. I've never seen someone so excited about booze, but it did not disappoint. I'm not huge on scotches with an enormous amount of smokiness / peatiness and Macallan is really the best option to stay closer to a bourbon flavor. One tiny piece of ice made it just amazing.

In conclusion, when you are out and about with your coworkers this holiday season, find a whiskey bar and ask for the Macallan limited releases. If you can find the Edition #1, apparently that is near impossible to get ahold of so make sure to throw one back.... and then enjoy each sip that much more knowing that you personally are paying nothing for it.

Needless to say, I am hurting quite a bit today after throwing back a few. Totally worth it.

Happy holidays, folks!
