Y Doggo eats grass?

If you have a pet dog and and a responsible owner at that, chances are when you are walking your lovable companion into the park and there are grass, sometimes they would nibble at them greens. Ever wondered why? To be honest with you, I've pondered about that quite a lot. My labrador has been doing it from time to time since she was a year old. So to give me and maybe some of you guys some clarification I took a little bit of digging.

Aw schmucks no real answers!

I've browsed the internet to get some answers but apparently could not find straight answers with very conclusive references. It turns out there are a few theories regarding why man's best-friend eats grass but nothing that really clamps it down hard.

They like it!

One of the most common guess that experts say is that they do it just because they like it. It's a common belief that up till now we haven't fully understood how the digestive organ works in tandem with the food ingested. The thing is even with other mammals have these habit of gnawing plants and other researchers even suggest that there's maybe a dopamine reward for this behaviour and that's why they do it.

I can on some level agree to this, I generally see my pet looking forward to the walk in the park and particularly a heavy tug of her leash when we've come to the park.

To clear their stomach

Some experts say alot of animals and not just mammals in this case eat grass to cleanse their digestive track of any unwanted food, ease their digestion and maybe excrete unwanted food ( or in some cases non-food ) they have ingested.

Numerous times when my pet is not feeling well and a bit bothered he would still waggle his tail and get excited and then he would munch a bigger than normal amount of grass and then a few hours later or the day after he would poop it or sometimes vomit it and then feel a bit better or more upbeat.
