From an individualistic perspective, this is indeed accurate. However, buying pets creates demand in the market which inevitably leads to exploitation. I am no peta activist but some of their arguments makes a lot of sense. I think we should stop the breeding of all pets. Let those in existamce live out their lives happily with their owners, but the whole concept of pet ownership is somewhat twisted.
