The security is very similar to Australia where guns are illegal yet a bit harsh on criminals as the president ordered police to kill any dealers that resist arrest or attempt to run. I felt pretty safe everywhere I have gone yet I also stay out of dangerous areas.

Sure, it's very important to know that. I live in Venezuela, and here insecurity is high and no matter where we are, the sense of alertness is active. It is pretty secure, i have stayed months at a time and my wife has lived there over 40 years. Thanks for looking out, one can never bee too safe
