We call it parada, tartanilla or kalesa. It is one of the many means of transportation in the Philippines.
You may think that they no longer exist, thonk twice you can still find th particularly in colon st. (Lane).
I find it scary since you dont know what the horse is capable of doing. Sometimes it amuses me and other times is like an adventure to conquer the fear of being on a " kalesa ".
Having a horse is a symbol of ones status in the society for some countries.
In the Philippines is a means of living.
Hope we could still keep them running on the streets since they played a big part of our History.
