Philippine Stock Market Meltdown of 2008 vs. 2020!

in #philippines4 years ago (edited)

Global stock markets suffered record falls on Thursday as alarm over the coronavirus codename WUHAN-400 (COVID-19) intensified.

Major worldwide bourses fell by double-digit percentages for their biggest daily losses on record, led by a European, American and Asia Pacific Indices. As of this writing, the government stimulus of so-called advanced economies policymakers did so little efforts to nothing to calm the “mass panic” of its citizenry.

According to mainstream media, governments and central banks readied more emergency measures to tackle the economic impacts of the man-made coronavirus WUHAN-400 on Friday as Asian markets suffered their worst weekly crashes since the 2008 great financial crisis.

Philippine Stocks Exchange Index (PSEi) worst sixty stocks performers of 2008 Great Financial Crisis and its recovery after 11 years of the bull market run. The comparison is based on the PSEi highest points before the 2008 stock market on October 8, 2007 at 3,896.74 while the lowest points at 1,684.75 on October 28, 2008 and its highest recovery points at 9,078.37 on January 29, 2018.

As well as the Philippines Stock Exchange (PSE)’s top sixty worst stocks that affected the most in this bloodbath week of PSE’s history.

As mentioned in my previous article, The Stock Market Doom-And-Gloom of 2020! that I sold and divested my funds into physical assets and enjoyed harvesting its fruits.

What now? When will be the next bull run? Would it be lasted for more than a decade again? As I have said, only time will tell. For me, stocks tend to have an 8-10 year market cycle. I was expected this crashed in 2018-2019.

CONCLUSION:
As I always said and I will reiterate it again, stocks past performance is no guarantee of future results. Don't assume an investment will continue to do well in the future simply because it's done well in the past or vice versa. I’m not a veteran in any aspect of finance and economics. I’m only as well a speculator in this arena. But one thing is certain, that I’m in this field for more than three decades and increased my assets significantly every time stock market crashes.
