Recently, my 23 year old cousin tied the knot with her long term boyfriend. The ceremony was held in Chali Beach Resort. It was a civil wedding because they are of different religion. My cousin is a catholic and her husband is a muslim. As far as I remember, when she was still a baby, I look after her sometimes and made sure she sleeps comfortably in her cradle. And now she's no longer an infant but a full grown woman, ready to venture another chapter of her life!
Guess what? I'm already 31 years of age but still single! Hahaha I've been wondering, what could have went wrong with myself? Its past the marrying age already and yet, I still haven't settled down.
In my 3 decades of existence, I was either the maid of honor or one of the bride's maids in the entourage of my friends' very special events of their lives as they exchange vows with their lifetime partners. Not to be hypocrite, I do feel envious during the ceremonies and receptions. Of course I am happy for them but part of me wished that I would also be in that position, a union with my significant other whom I would spend the rest of my life. Unfortunately, my forever has not come my way yet.
I must say I've been longing for someone to hold and love me without being told. I fervently pray that time will come, God shall send the right person He prepared for me. I just have to be patient and keep my faith in Him that He'll work in His perfect timing.
