In most if not all occasions “CHOCOLATES” are the quickest, can’t go wrong and best idea to bring or to give. Why such inclination and favors are associated with chocolates?

Is it because they are sweet by nature?
OR
Is it because of their wide scope of availability? Like EVERYWHERE 😂
OR
Is it because something is really special with chocolates that even the thought of it makes a person happy right away?

Chocolates becoming one of the most popular food types and flavors in the world is typically sweet, usually brown food preparation of Theobroma cacao seeds, roasted and ground. It is made in the form of a liquid, paste, or in a block, or used as a flavoring ingredient in other foods according to my good friend “Wikipeds”

Chocolate simply makes people happy, through several ways and mechanisms. Psychological • Chemical • Physical

Let’s dig a little deeper and put each of those three in proper context.

It’s easy, will you not be happy by merely seeing chocolates??? For a child chocolates is everything and for us, chocolates make us travel back in time, during those happy days when satisfaction can be in an instant and we’re easy to be pleased.

Chocolates are guilty pleasure for some of us, rather for most of us and one simple way of explaining it’s psychological effect is... JUST THINK OF THE EXPERIENCE YOU’VE HAD THE LAST TIME YOU ATE CHOCOLATE? ... That’s it!

Gettin’ technical for a moment. Chocolates trigger release of certain neurotransmitters (aka chemical messengers to and from the brain) that are associated to inducing positive emotions and feelings.

Phenylethylamine - aka love drug, results to excitement, alertness and happines

Serotonin - mood elevator and dubbed also as a happy feeling neurotransmitter, but not that much to make you crazy 😂, though more is better than less with serotonin (believed to cause depression)

Tryptophan - precursor of Serotonin and increases its level in the brain

Anadamide - means “bliss” in Sanskrit, a receptor activator for dopamine production

Dopamine - “let’s get high” ... for happiness

THC - a cannabinoid often associated with marijuana, they may have the same effect but different mechanism, so don’t worry to GET HIGH 😂

Endorphins - reduces levels of stress and pain

Serotonin + Dopamine + Endorphins together with Oxytocin are known as our QUARTET RESPONSIBLE FOR HAPPINESS. That’s nice to know y’all 😉

For these chemicals to take effect, give it 1-2 hours after eating... see how your emotions will change 💪🏻

Are you ready to be active? Chocolates are also known for their aphrodisiac effect! Hmmmm so stimulating haha 🙉🙈🙊 ... enough on that. I know you’re mature enough to handle it! Haha ... though there no strong evidence/study to back up this claim.

Chocolates are meant to give us a good deal of satisfaction, but similar to any type of food, anything in excess will either be beneficial nor healthy. Eat in moderation and be sure to enjoy every bite!
