Philippines, My Beloved and Beautiful Country

in #philippines7 years ago (edited)

As a Filipino, I want to share my country with you all here in Steemit by writing about it and its attractions.

The Philippines is part of Southeast Asia and its neighbors are Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, and Vietnam. It is a Republican State headed by our President. Democracy has long been challenged in my country but those who do are not winning anyway.

So, let me tell you about some of the major attractions that the Philippines has to offer.

Beautiful Islands.

Composed of 7,100 islands, my country has hundreds of such islands that are breathtakingly attractive and pristine. But the major islands are the 3 main groups, Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. Out of the thousands of other islands within the Philippine Archipelago, some are more notable and famous to the foreign and local tourists. Some of these are Palawan, with its very natural underground caves and beaches; Boracay in the Visayas, where foreign and local tourists pour in every summer and holiday seasons and Samal Island near Davao City, where the famous pearls are found.

That will be all for now. There will be more to come out of this post. I am going to add more day by day.

Hello, again fellow residents of Steemit. Today I am ready to share with you some of the major cities of the Philippines.

Manila, the prime city of my country where major events usually happen. From political to social developments and turmoils, national legislation and coups to appearances of movie and music icons, you name it and these regularly occur in Manila.

Makati City, the commercial hub of my country boasts of its thousands of investors and commercial establishments dealing with the financial aspect of Filipino and foreign money-makers.

Quezon City is the capital of the Philippines, officially. It is just neighbor to Manila and Makati. This city got its name from one of the past presidents, Manuel L. Quezon.

Cebu City in the Visayas is the jewel city located in the island of Cebu, of course. While most of the dialects used in Manila, Makati, Quezon and other cities in Luzon is Tagalog, peop;e of Cebu use the Cebuano dialect. For instance if you want to say "I love you" in Manila, you would say " mahal kita". In Cebu if you want to tell someone that you love him or her, you would say " gihigugma ko ikaw".

Other famous cities in the Visayas are Tagbilaran City in Bohol Island; Bacolod City in Negros Island; and Iloilo City in Panay Island.

The City of Puerto Princesa in Palawan Island is far from Manila and may be reached by boat or plane. Many foreign and local tourists are magnetized by the natural attractions of Palawan like the underground caves and beautiful beaches that are still safe from pollution.

That will be for today, my friends. I will find some way to post here beautiful photos of the cities I have mentioned. I will deal with the cities of Mindanao next time.
