As I've expressed here, love and hate are often two sides of the same coin. For example, if you love your child, and somebody harms it, you will feel hatred toward that person. It seems to me every love is a potential hate, and every hate is a scorned/assaulted love. If you love your freedom you will hate prison, if you love good music you'll hate it when hollow music tops the charts, etc. So asking which one is more powerful is maybe the wrong thing to ask. Probably our default state is love, and we hate when the thing we love is challenged or assaulted. And that thing might just be ourselves, our own ego! After all, we don't always love the right thing. Not all love is good.
