Your very interesting article spurred my thinking and I have delved. The Fairfax Family in Australia and the Fairfax here are one and the same - Lord Fairfax of Cameron is the Title. Having lived both in the USA and Australia, sometimes things under one's nose are elusive. As you said, most people connect with Washington the man and Fairfax the place.
