I read your post and it's really interesting, though the sadness underneath it is touching and heartbreaking all at once, knowing what you told me yesterday. So many television shows and movies touch on the possibility of (recreated) life after death either in physical form or in simulation form these days, probably because, as you said, it's really only a matter of time since it's physically possible and enough people want it. Altered Carbon, Westworld, Dollhouse, and Black Mirror are just a few that come to mind.
