Our civilization is on the path of accumulating knowledge. Democritus could assume that matter consists of tiny atoms. And scientists of the 20th century learned much more about these atoms and their composition, learned that all objects and all living things that surround us are made of bricks (atoms) of exploded old stars. You probably know that the gold in your wedding ring originally appeared in a small but very powerful star, only 20 kilometers in diameter (a neutron star).
