In addition, we all can see that new innovative applications are being added to steem blockchain constantly, new businesses/ companies are joining, new members are signing up and all these are going on even without the implementation of SMT and Hfork 20 (upcoming steemit inc projects / updates-see my older posts for details). Therefore, the future of steem ecosystem is very bright.

Dang I am not so sure this is a good thing for me. I was on a roll spending a lot of time on steemit in lieu of porn for almost a decade. Once this dporn platform goes full blossom I may be getting back into that addiction, porn. :/ Steemit and porn at the same time. Dang not enough time in a day to do all that lol.

People have always had these struggles, addictions, to porn, and other things, for thousands of years, so it is not really the fault of technology haha. But I feel you. Chuck Norris would have no problem with this haha.

I certainly don't think that steem will become a huge platform for porn.
The blockchain is public and I think most people don't want their friends and followers to know what porn they upvoted ;)
This "problem" also isn't solved by creating new accounts, as that accounts wouldn't be very powerfull and there would no incentive to delegate them any power. (as nearly nobody upvotes nsfw content the curation rewards are also very small ).
So to summarize: There are no positive effects for people who vote porn. Therefore nobody does.
But there may be a small market for people who buy porn with votes. (Vote to gain access)

You know, I'm not sure about that. If you're an open-minded person who approaches EVERYTHING with a different eye, then your family and friends won't be surprised to know your views on these finer points. So what if someone knows I like looking at naked females? Should that be any surprise? On the other hand, since so many people aren't honest with themselves, much less their family and friends, that's another matter altogether.
The important part is, that it isn't only about family and friends. The content in the blockchain is public, easy to analyze and undeletable. That's a very explosive mixture!
(And this also doesn't only concern porn, but anything you ever write on steemit. )
You don't want everybody to know everything. Most of all not something intimate.
It may be ok if your friends know, it might be ok if your family knows, but is it ok if your neighbour knows? Your date who you just met? Every potential company where you would like to work? Your co-workers? Your clients? Your subordinates?

What if you have a leading position in a company with many female subordinates.
Would they feel comfortable around you if you often watch and like (fake) rape-porn?
This of course exaggerated, but I think it helps to bring my point across.
How many people do you know their real Identity on Steemit? moreover, there is no home for rape or child porn here because the steemit community will chase them out with downvotes...few tried and were destroyed here and the accounts compromised. I am not a fan of Porn but see its future on decentralised platforms like steemit...and yes, I like seeing beautiful women

The rewards there are very small and there aren't many videos either because of this.
And I don't see reasons why this would change in the (near) future.
So my point isn't that there shouldn't be services or accounts like that and I also don't think that such things will vanish completly. Its just that I find it very unlikely that these will ever be a majority. And also that one has to be very careful if using them...

You're not wrong. I do think there should be user control over who can see what you post. That only limits the earner's potential, but then it becomes about privacy more than money...and that's an interesting balance too.
I think this is basically impossible.
Only things that aren't required by the blockchain to work are possible to encrypt.
For example: You can't encrypt votes, the blockchain need to know who and for what you voted for, so that the rewards can be calculated correctly.
Another example: You can encrypt the memo text, as the transaction is only between 2 people (therefore you can use the public key of the other party to encrypt it) and it isn't needed for anything else.
About posts:
Well you could encrypt a posts content, but if you want to do that you could just as well use any other service out there that is more for private texting. Way more efficient and you don't have a problem once the encryption on steem is broken (or anybody changes private keys).
I am here long enough to know that it is not realistic to implement and will not work because remember that steemit is uncensored and decentralised...even everybody can see your transactions here hence the beauty (and for some the danger) of decentralised social media platform.

People will follow and yes, upvote the content that is popular. If a dporn bot is upvoting i.e like dmania, dtube and the rest do people will follow it to earn curation. People will use alt accounts and build them up overtime solving the , "don't want their friends and followers to know what porn they upvoted" issue. We already see that with a few other apps. Also, if you have a stake in the platform via the PornD tokens you'll earn 90 % of the rewards the site earns. There is incentives to be on the Dporn platform.
True, but it can make a little bit of money at least for some people sometimes. Let people choose to maybe do whatever they want to do, whether it be good or bad.
Maybe this corner of the internet isn't suitable for porn audiences and providers anyway? I'm sure there are easier ways to make money than by hoping people publicly approve of it on an open forum, since it's the sort of thing people prefer to keep somewhat discreet.

Whether anyone personally likes them or not, porn and gaming are the two biggest areas that can add a boatload of users very quickly. Both have enormous followings. Plus those people tend to have money to spend..
Should a store sell cigarettes? Some people may not like smoking but may sell smokes to make money. Porn and beer and wine and gambling is the same kind of thing. People tend to want to make money off things even if they do not like those things. And there are black markets out there. Prohibition does not stop the black markets. So, do we want these industries for smokes, beer, sex, drugs, etc., to go under ground which makes it harder for cops and for others to find them or do we want to let them do what they do somewhere where we can see them and keep an eye on them?

Interesting aspect of crypto use, i am just wondering how this might be affected by legal constraints, like the recent discovery of child pornography on the bitcoin blockchain just as an example, as there is a variety of prohibition in different countries, so this could become a problem for witnesses in many countries...
We had the issue of an account that posted childporn here on steemit and the steemit community members exposed and flagged the accounts including all voters of the posts to hell fire...the accounts were later compromised-a good use of community downvote indeed.

Governments who blocks sites like those should rethink to block it. If there are many pros than cons, do not block. Porn does not matter if it's unavoidable and the site gives many pros than cons. Do not treat porn the same trouble as privacy attack at this case.
The worst case: Vimeo blocked in Indonesia for just one pornographic video (which contains not really strong pornographic, typical western fashioned), and there must be hidden reason behind why it's blocked. Something fishy happens in Indonesian government.
Not sure if Steem will be the future of porn. We've had titcoin available for a while now and it still hasn't caught on. I guess we'll see what happens next :)
