Fance a little tour.

The loose regulations around Covid19 restrictions make it easy and hassle-free to explore the city. Sweden trusts in the human intellect to make wise decisions to protect not only one another but also the people around you. So it is up to you how you navigate the situation. We felt very liberated, yet we stayed cautious and responsible wearing masks when appropriate. But we do not need to debate each other's view on that topic.

Let's go!

If you know Stockholm you know what path we went. Here we cross over to the little but beautiful island of Skeppsholmen. The bridge to cross features two Gilded Crown on Skeppsholmsbron. Very impressive for your photos every tourist (us also) stopped by to take their shot. You may wait in line.

The bridge has an incredible panorama of the main features of the city.

I suppose we all know here that Stockholm is the Capital of Sweden but also the cultural, political, and with a big margin economic center of Sweden. During our last visit, there was this one day with beautiful weather. We had to go out and wander around.

Stockholm has so much water and many many islands. In the city center, you have so many bridges that become the lifelines and veins of the city. When you go on a tour you often are invited to take a boat instead of walking. Super convenient, yet we chose to cross a few bridges.

The City is full of incredible architecture. Here is not the place to spam you full of shots of houses. Just sharing some details that shall make you interested in the Swedish culture.

You find enough evidence about the thousands of years of history. The Vikings are omnipresent.

Strolling by the royal Opera house we are on our way to the Royal Palace, Kungliga Slottet.
The "Royal Opera" is known by a few names such as "The Gustavian Opera" and "The Oscarian Opera", or the "Old" and "New" Opera. These names are used when a distinction is needed. read more on Wikipedia what that means.

Royal Palace or the Stockholm Palace (Stockholms slott or Kungliga slottet) is the official home of the Swedish monarch. The view from the Opera is very impressive and lets you pull your camera immediately.

The Baroque Palace was mostly built by 1728, under the command of Carl Hårleman who also designed a large portion of the Rococo interior. King Adolf Frederick and Queen Louisa Ulrika only moved in by 1754 when also the interior was finished.

The palace has today 1,430 rooms of which only 660 have windows. Many of which have a beautiful view of the surrounding city. The Palace is owned and run by the state of Sweden and its authorities. The Palace is at all times at the disposal of the King. But not entirely because you find some impressive museums in there that are publically accessible. Well worth the visit when the weather is not like you see here. ;-)

I hope we could take you on a mini City trip that you enjoyed. We loved Stockholm for its diversity and impressive architecture. You find many other reasons for yourself when you come and visit.
