Perfect model with the cool location
Thanx to some friends in Shanghai I got to know some pretty cool places in Shanghai. Some years ago Lisa and I were on a business trip in Shanghai and Miko a local Light Painter invited us to some cool spots. This is how we got to play in the backstreets of Shanghai. Always fascinating are these tiny streets and then at the end, you see some pretty amazing Sky Scrapers that just make the shot.
For this shot, I used a huge white fiber optic whip that allowed me to create these large-scale yet fuzzy wing-like light patterns behind her. The hope was not to make it super dominant, not to distract too much from her and the tower in the back.
This is the standard lighting test playing with extra long shadows and legs. Very loooong legs. Always the question that comes first is: How much time do I have before the ambient light becomes a problem. Here the street was dark enough but the tower in the background would not give us endless time. So everything was to be done in under a minute.
