Its always a pleasant surprise waking up to a blanket of fresh snow like frosting on the red rocks, its so gorgeous. And I have to say it doesn't happen very often but when it does it usually melts very quickly, mostly gone the same day. Some winters offer little or no measurable snow. This image shows Capitol Butte with white stuff on it at sunrise.
At first glance I thought it was a volcano among the snow but it is also a spectacular sight. You are an artist with your camera.👍😎
Thanks I try my hardest.
Red and white is always a striking combination, but in nature times infinity so
Add the blue and that's the colors of our flag. A unique appeal visually .
Yeah it was pretty chilly in Arizona the week I was visiting... i didn't realize there'd be snow as far down as sedona! Do you get sno often?
It gets cold here at night, last week we had nighttime temps in the mid to upper twenties. Sedona's elevation ranges from 4000 to 5000 feet . The mountains and rim around town are over 7000 feet high. When snow is in the forecast it is predicted down to a certain elevation. As I am writing this we have a winter storm hitting with snow predicted down to 3500 feet.through tomorrow 1 to 3 inches above 4500 ft. I live at 4000ft and we have only seen about an inch this season, it varies from year to year.
I guess i didn't realize the elevation there... but makes sense because it's so close to flagstaff
Yes that's right, Flagstaff is just up the hill 30 miles north of Sedona and sits on the Colorado plateau at 7200ft.
omg. snow in Arizona?! nice!
Its always a visual treat when it happens. Thanks for the reply!
Nice shot! You've got a good balance of proportions and colors and the mist really sort of draws you in. Looks like a majestic fantasyland almost,
I like the way you put that perfect!
Super✔💗
Thank you.
Really great contrast with the red rock and the snow cover. Beautiful work!
Thanks its a nice combination.
