Triumphal arch

I (@lichtcatchtoby) took this photo during my very first city trip to Milan in 2015. However, I didn't want to photograph this fascinating building classically from the front, but with a ultra wide angle from below. The symmetry is, in my opinion, beautiful.
Porta Sempione ("Sempione Gate") is a city gate of Milan, Italy. The name "Porta Sempione" is used both to refer to the gate proper and to the surrounding district ("quartiere"), a part of the Zone 1 division (the historic city centre), including the major avenue of Corso Sempione.[1] The gate is marked by a landmark triumphal arch called Arco della Pace ("Arch of Peace"), dating back to the 19th century, although its origins can be traced back to a gate of the Roman walls of Milan.

Triumphbogen

Dieses Foto habe ich (@lichtcatchtoby) bei meiner aller ersten Städtereise 2015 in Mailand aufgenommen. Ich wollte dieses spannende Bauwerk jedoch nicht klassisch von vorne fotografieren, sondern mit einem starken Weitwinkel von unten. Die Symmetrie ist, meiner Meinung nach. wunderschön.
Der Arco della Pace (Friedensbogen) ist ein Triumphbogen auf der Piazza Sempione in Mailand. Bereits 1806 war zum Einzug von Eugène de Beauharnais, dem Vizekönig Napoleons, ein hölzerner Ehrenbogen aufgestellt worden. Ein Nachfolger aus Stein, in klassizistischem Stil nach dem Vorbild römischer Triumphbögen erbaut, wurde 1807 begonnen und 1838 fertiggestellt. Er sollte zunächst an den Ruhm Napoleons und dann an den Europäischen Frieden von 1815 erinnern.
