The Grass is Always Greener in MALAYSIA

in #photofeed6 years ago

Ever been to a place so green you couldn't believe your eyes?

That was my case when I first went to see the tea plantations in
Cameron Highlands, Malaysia.

Initially found in 1885 by British colonial government surveyor William Cameron, Cameron Highlands only became fully developed in 1925. Though it started with a reputation as a hill resort, it soon became the main area of interest for British planters who established their first tea plantations on the fertile and cool hills. The town is 1,800m above sea level and the average temperature doesn't ever go above 25C, making it the perfect escape for locals and tourists that are looking to have a break from the heat of the major cities by the sea.

Cameron Highlands is Malaysia's largest tea-producing region and it's easy to realise it when you visit.

Myyyyy oh my,
the vibrancy of the greenery covering the hills was almost blinding. There were tea plants as far as the eye could see, with the occasional bit of fog hovering around the concave areas around. The curves of the hills and the different shades of the colour of the plants created a beautiful combination that was appealing to the eyes of any person and of any camera.

Not only that, but the tea bushes were grown and cut in such a way that they looked like comfortable pillows that made me daydream about rolling on them. Sadly, there wasn't (and still isn't) nothing soft about them, so I had to stick to looking at them and taking their pictures. But I was okay with that. There were so many angles and places to explore that it was impossible for me to get bored in a place like that with my camera. I had a real blast.

Have you ever been to a tea plantation?
