#868 - Baguio Streets in Colors for Monday.
Monday's gray skies seem to mirror the somber mood that often accompanies the start of a new week, only had a few hours of sleep as I am still adjusting my body working at night and it's my second week already. But as the rain patters against the windows, I've found solace in the simple pleasures of a home workout before noon time. Dumbbells in hand I tackled several sets of squats with determination and felt the burn in my thighs as I work to strengthen and tone, hopefully 😅. The droplets outside seem to echo the rhythmic clank of metals against the floor as I pressed on, my sweat glistening on the brows and face. As the rain continues to fall, I know that this exercise ritual will help me face the day ahead with renewed energy and vigor and with that, Happy Monday my Hiveans friends!
Now for our daily shots, here I was on my way up the steep incline of Session Road, the honking horns and chattering pedestrians fills the air. The street is a sea of humanity with locals and tourists alike weaving in and out of the throngs of people. On one side, the uphill climb is lined with a myriad of stores with each one vying for peoples attention with their wares displayed in colorful arrays. Phone accessories of every kind catch people eyes, it's cheap, flashy phone cases in every color and design imaginable, there's Bluetooth speakers that promise crystal-clear sound and earbuds that claim to block out all noise.
As I navigate through the congested streets of Baguio and found myself caught in a sea of pedestrians, all moving at their own pace towards their respective destinations. The scent of pine trees and engine fumes fills the air as I weaved through the crowd careful not to bump into anyone. Then to my left is the trafficking of vehicles crawls along the road with a seemingly endless stream of cars, jeepneys and other vehicles all vying for space on the narrow rotonda. The honking of horns and the revving of engines creates a symphony of sound that seems to reverberate through the city.
As the sun was lit over the verdant expanse of Burnham Park, here's two lovebirds pedal their way through the winding paths with their laughter and chatter mingling with the soft hum of the bicycle. The sidecar where the lady was sitting on adds a touch of whimsy to the scene as if they've stepped out of a fairy tale. The couple who were oblivious to the world around them, takes in the breathtaking view of the park.
And here are several people make their way down a slope street of Baguio. The pavement stretches out before them like a ribbon of concrete weaving its way through the heart of the city, the upper area leads to their city hall which is about a hundred meters only. As they walk, they pass under the canopy of pine trees with their branches heavy with the weight of time and their needles whispering secrets to the wind. The scent of damp earth and pine fills the air which is a heady mix that seems to intoxicate the senses.
