The Aceh Tsunami Museum has stood majestic and became the pride of the people of Aceh. The museum was inaugurated by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) on February 23, 2008. Now the Aceh Tsunami Museum is excellent for local and international tourists.

This museum for its construction spent Rp140 billion. When observed from above, this museum reflects the tsunami waves, but when viewed from the side (bottom) tamp ak like a rescue boat with a large deck as an escape building. Once you enter inside, you will feel entering the dark corridor of tsunami waves with a height of 40 meters with falling water effect.

After you pass this place, dozens of standing screens present post-tsunami photographs, in the form of damage and destruction and death, filled with images of victims and images of help to them.

After you pass this room, you will enter the "Fate Determination Room" or "Fighting Room", often called The Light of God. This room is shaped like a semi-dark chimney. On the walls of the space are listed thousands of names of casualties with lafadz Allah at the top. This reflects the struggle of the tsunami victims who surrender when the tsunami waves, so their names are sincerely on the chimney wall as a victim.

Conversely, for those who feel there is hope, continue to struggle while expecting compassion from the Most Helpful. Once they are convinced of God's help, they seem to hear the divine call and keep fighting until they survive the wave. This is reflected by way of climbing out around the chimney. At the end there is a bright and spacious space, a transparent ceiling roof, shaped like a ship, where flags from a number of countries are hanging with "peaceful" writing in different languages. At the bottom there is a "bridge of hope" symbolizing life expectancy for the survivors and bringing visitors to the next floor of the four-storey building in the museum.
