This morning I gave a break on editing some wedding pictures and uploaded in Lightroom some beach pictures that I really love. I took them a while ago and once in a while I like to upload them again to try some different editions just for fun and inspiration. One of these pictures is this one below. It was shot in a beach called Joaquina, in Florianopolis, a city in southern Brazil. Joaquina Beach has some awesome dunes where people generally practice sandboard during the summer.

(I never get to thank that guy for posing)
With a little crop here and there. Fading a little bit, adding and taking some colors out. A little highlight here, little shade there. I came to this results which I could easily visualize in some person's office or living room.

The detail of the sky above the dunes is really nice in the original picture and I realize I erased this detail in the picture above. So below is another version with the sky highlighted.

I guess some images could be more valued if it could be framed not on printing form but have its details recreated in painting. I look to these images and keep thinking how incredible it would look in oil, for instance. Another nice factor about painting is that you are free to transform the image and add any detail that can not be included in a photo edition. And I strongly believe that painting habilities can really enhance the editing skills of a photographer and the editing skills of a photographer can make him more sensible and attentive to details for painting.
You have a really amazing eye. I love the different variations and how you are able to visualize the different possible iterations and modalities to bring this picture to life. Very impressive work

You take amazing pictures! Good insight about the painting. I never thought about that honestly, but it makes sense!
