Lake Minnewanka, Hoodoo viewpoint - Banff AB

in #photography4 years ago (edited)

Took a lovely day trip to Banff this past weekend to get some fresh air and to out of the monotony of the city.
I don't ever remember visiting lake Minnewanka as a kid, so this may have been my first time there. It was a beautiful spot with perfect blue water and the sun was hot and casting a beautiful light on the whole area.

About a ten minute drive away, there was a trail leading to a viewpoint of the Bow river valley and a small set of hoodoos. Again, it was the perfect day for some pictures.

I'd highly recommend these two spots for anyone in the area.

A nice looking place indeed. I love it when we are able to take mountain trips, they are pretty close to us, (not your mountains), but we still only manage 2 or 3 trips a up to copper landing and trail lakes area.

Nice shots of your landscape. I really like the first Bow Valley shot the mountain coloration looks like a wild boar.

Wow those are great pictures! I have got to get back out to Banff and check it out. Next summer I hope to do a lot more traveling, at least a few times out and about. Banff has some beautiful spots and Lake Louise is also amazing. If you've never been there definitely check it out!

I've never been to Lake Louise itself, but I always see it from the ski hill. Beautiful from afar, I bet it's even more stunning up close.
