We decided to make a trip to downtown St. Petersburg to visit The Pier yesterday and do a bit of exploring. The drive was really on 18 miles from where we are staying, but with traffic and downtown lights it took a solid 30 minutes to get there. We found good parking and headed for lunch at a little restaurant there where we had a couple of Mojitos, a grouper sandwich, and of course, a Cuban sandwich. After satisfying our hunger, we just strolled the pier area a bit. The theme for the first part of that trip really became shadows and shapes, and that was finalized with a trip to the Salvador Dali Art Museum where we had an opportunity to see his art, as well as a special Picasso exhibit.
