Residents of the Samara region are lucky, in order to see a Gothic castle, you do not need to travel to Europe, a wish can be fulfilled much easier. To do this, it is enough to drive a little more than a hundred kilometers from the regional capital, to the village of Khryashchevka. There is a castle, unique for Russia, built in the neo-Gothic style. In general, this is a hotel, but first of all - a castle.) This grandiose structure is called - Garibaldi Castle. It is not copied from any particular building, it is a flight of imagination of architects on the theme of medieval architecture of different eras.
Many people think that the castle bears the name of Giuseppe Garibaldi, an Italian revolutionary and politician. But no, the castle got its name from the owner's father - Garibaldi Arkadyevich Kuzichkin.
The construction of this complex began in 2006. At that moment, a sports complex was already being completed on this site, consisting of baths, swimming pools and a winter garden. The owner of the complex, businessman Oleg Garibaldievich Kuzichkin, decided to build a hotel nearby for guests who could relax here for some time. According to the project, the castle will have only seven rooms ranging from 70 to 150 square meters. Each room is unique and has its own layout. So far, no information has been found about the price of accommodation, but obviously the pleasure will not be cheap.
They began to build the hotel according to the usual project, but it soon became clear that this option could not be combined with the already finished complex. And then there was an offer from two artists to build a hotel in the form of a Gothic castle. The owner of the complex was very interested in her, and soon a team was formed, which presented this unique project. They say that Oleg Garibaldievich himself was directly involved in the design. The team included Valery Seglin - the chief architect, Yuri Guryanov - the architect, Sergey Karengin - the artist and facade designer, Alexey Cheboksarinov - the facade decorator, Viktor Shuvalov - the sculptor.
At present, the hotel building itself is ready, work is underway on the interior decoration. Although some work continues on the site in front of the castle. But this does not interfere with carrying out photo shoots on it, shooting clips, and just walking crowds of tourists. People come from other areas to see this beautiful castle.
There are many sculptures and statues near the castle. Guards, knight, gargoyles, chimeras and other mythical creatures. And the stained-glass windows on the windows perfectly complement the general atmosphere of the castle. By the way, one of the features of the castle facades is the artificial "aging" of the stones. To achieve this result, technologies similar to those of restoration were used.
The castle is located in a picturesque place, not far from the Zhigulevsky reservoir. In the future, they plan to build a full-fledged berth for ships here, and now the bay near the castle has been re-equipped, so that it would be possible to receive large ships. According to the owner of the complex, the castle has a great future due to the development of water tourism.
Unfortunately, there is no free access to the interior of the complex yet. There is still a lot of work to be done. So far, you can only see the facade, but it also makes a strong impression. However, they say that it is still possible to negotiate with the administration, and get into the courtyard of the castle - there are already many who want to hold a wedding photo session there.
