I made some impulse buys after getting a new scanner and picked up a huge batch of slides a while back. These pictures span from as early as the late 1940s to as late as the early 1990s. These were from Goodwill and eBay (sometimes via estate sales). There are many thousands of these slides. I will be scanning some from time to time and posting them here for posterity.
This set continues a batch of slides that I bought on eBay a while back. I don't have as much to go on as to the ultimate origin of these compared to the previous batch. They came to me from eBay and most likely were picked up at an estate sale by the seller. Most of them seem to be taken in the 1960s and same individuals are included in most of the photos. It looks like there are some that were taken in Miami and some that were taken in New Jersey and perhaps elsewhere. I get the impression that Miami was a vacation spot for this family.
The first photo shows an elderly gentleman taking a nap with a cat. There are some newspapers on the ground that I could come tantalizingly close to making out a headline to be able to exactly date this but i couldn't quite do it so the processing date of November 1965 is as close as I can get.
The second photo, also processed in November 1965, features a couple of men at some evening picnic/campfire event. There have been other photos from this in previous sets.
The third photo has no date but is also likely from the same general time period of the mid to late 1960s. It shows a couple of teens (not sure what they're doing) and a younger girl.
The last photo shows a family outside where it looks like there are preparations for some kind of picnic or outdoor celebration. Maybe Labor Day as this was processed in September 1965. I believe the two kids are the same as two of the kinds in the previous photo. The girl looks like she might be a little older in this one which I guess hints at the previous photo being a little older.
