Death and Taxes are considered some of the only guaranteed things in life. But as a parent, here is another. When you go for a nice long hike, and this is the scene before you... you can almost guarantee it was preceded by a discussion that went like this:
"Dad... can we get in the water?"
"No, we've got a long hike back to the car and I'm not listening to you guys whine because your shoes are wet"
"Please dad? We'll take off our shoes"
"You are to roll your pants up and not to get wet above your knees... It's too chilly and I'm not listening to your whining"
"Thanks dad! We won't get wet!"
