Yes, these days smartphones are pretty good. But they still shoot mainly wide-angle photos, so if I want to bring my subjects real close, I still need a camera with a long teleobjective. Usually the photos turn up looking pretty nice, if the fundamentals are ok.
My smartphone on the other hand, is quite old, and has a mediocre, if not outright bad camera.
Sometimes bad cameras turn up nice photos too. Like the one I posted.
