Here you can see an plant that bears the name celery and scientifically apium graveolens. This is a wild form of it and from a commercial point of view, breeding varieties are usually traded as vegetable plants and the wild form is often found in Central Europe, especially in coastal areas and preferably on salty soil. Nowadays it is also widespread in more places around the world and prefers sunny locations plus a mild climate in general.

In the raw form the plant is not poisonous, but should be prepared cooked because some people react to it raw! It was already highly appreciated as a medicinal plant in ancient times and used in various areas. As an example, it is known in Ayurveda or traditional Chinese medicine and it can help in many ways against different diseases, and can protect against viruses and bacteria. It was also found that celery can have a positive effect on the aging process and cannot stop it, but can slow it down. As always, with medicine of any kind, you should consult your doctor in the council and about possible side effects!

Already in ancient times, the plant was also very revered by different cultures and the Egyptians, Romans and Greeks already appreciated it very much. The ancient Egyptians symbolized with celery victory and triumph, but also in dream symbolism it is associated with creativity of the dreams. In ancient Rome and Greece, it was already used as a medicinal plant and I just think it's interesting how long the history of some plants goes back to ancient times.

The leaves of this plant look very similar to coriander.

That’s true, a certain similarity is definitely noticeable.
