My fury alarm clock, my cat, woke me up a little earlier than normal this fateful day. It was pre-dawn and yet I could tell this was going to be a fantastic sunrise. It did not disappoint.

perfect, it's a suitable word after viewing the contents of your post. incredible .... like a love story that changes from day to day like gone and looks like the sun.
I usually wake up early just to see this type of view. Never got bored of looking at the sunrise, never will actually. When you get to see the world waking up before you, that moment is worth living for. As you can see in the pic you posted.

Heading back to cold grey and xenophobic Britain tomorrow. But seeing all these great pictures on steemit has inspired me to take my camera out and take some pics around London.

Yes, all the credit goes to Almighty God, great architect and director of every sunrise, day, sunset, and night.
Being so far north the view of the sunrise is just right out my backyard windows in the winter time. As spring and summer approach the sunrise is further East each day. Soon it will no longer be possible to photograph it from my camera window.
When it gets warmer I will be able to clean other windows from the outside. This will allow me to capture the sunrises once again as long as the windows are clear (clean).

Not crazy at all. When I lived in southern California one of my coworkers never saw it snow either. In sourthern California, you can see the snow capped mountains in the distance, but you need to go there to enjoy the snow.
One winter my friends took him up to the mountains where it was snowing and took pictures of his reaction. It was exactly as you say, eating snow and making snowballs. It was fun hearing about his experience and seeing the pictures when we were all back at work.
I am certain that one day you will get to experience snow. Just remember to dress for cold weather :-)
It is snowing right now. It is a wet snow mixed with freezing rain. It makes for a slippery mess outside. But not enough snow to make a snowball.
The bird feeders are full and the birds are enjoying that! (I filled them yesterday when there was a break in the weather.)
