I went into my garden today for the first time since I got back from Europe, and while I was traveling, everything grew wild!
I am amazed and also shocked by what I saw. My garden became a jungle left unattended (oh I will have to spend hours pulling out those weeds!), but as predicted nature went on its course. I will post some pics when I bring up the courage to start cleaning up.
During my inspection, I discovered a hummingbird nest on one of my trees, and to show you just how small they are, I took a picture with my thumb next to it. I'm sorry for the blurry eggs (they are the size of M&M's), but I didn't want to disturb the nest while photographing it.
The next thing I saw was a gorgeous very first flower on my passion fruit plant.
The second photo is a little cut off because I had to balance on a piece of wood to take it from high up over my head. Hence, aiming was a bit of a challenge. I still posted it because it shows much of the flower's detail. Look at these colors and shapes, isn't it amazing? I had never seen a passion fruit flower before, so it's a first for me. I hope to see fruit really soon =)

We eat a lot of passionfruit in Australia. It is used a lot in deserts and cakes. I live in the US now and I don't see it at all where I am.

One of my favorite flowers in the world. Such great photos of the nest as well. I've never seen a nest like that before.

ahahah no my garden would scare you! It's awful right now. I can barely walk through certain parts right now...need to find some time and work in it seriously
I can imagine it is a bit "unmaintained" after your trip to Europe but I generally like the raw beauty of nature more than where people intervene ;) But I know from the videos you posted before that your home and the natural surrounding would be like a dream come true for me ;) Right now, back in my homeland and my hometown, I can only see grey concrete apartment buildings all around me :( Fortunately, just a few minutes on a bike and I can be to places like these: ;)
