Life's Lessons in Nature's Simple Beauty - Photographs of Nature's Blessings

in #photography8 years ago (edited)

Another blessed day it is!!

Nature is my safe haven.

It's where I go to push the reset button,

To gain new perspective,

To get grounded,

To breathe in life.

I grew up in nature in the mountains of Colorado,

Climbing trees,

Playing with water skippers in the creek,

Running through the culvert singing at the top of my lungs,

Making angels and forts in the snow,

Sleeping under the aspen trees

Where the wild deer roam.

Of the thousands upon thousands of pictures I have taken on all subjects,

Nature is still one of my favorites.

It just sits there silently, in pure presence.

Receiving  my appreciation.

I feel at home with the trees, flowers, bugs and skies.

And capture a few sights of magnificence not often seen by

Those who stay inside!

I'm offering up a few blessings to share with you today.

The cactus commands constant respect.

This cactus' is not only  interestingly intricate and powerful on its own,

but the fine dance of the spider's web adds another level of  intrigue and danger.

A great reminder to be pay attention to the web of life,

lest we be caught in a sticky spot of a painful journey.

In perfect alignment, the flower unveils its glory.

One bud at a time it opens to the fullness of life.

Remembering that every step of  life's journey unfolds in divine order and

to be in patient appreciation for the blossoming process of the splendor of life.

The delicately efficient dandelion flower in

The perfect cycle of sustainable balance.

May we remember the fragile nature of our existence,

In a second's gust of wind, everything can change.

As this moment is only temporary.

Live for the beauty of this moment.

This tree is covered with thorns all the way up its trunk.

What a statement nature makes in providing protection.

Sometimes we humans wear our thorns on the outside too,

to protect ourselves from perceived harm.

What are we protecting ourselves from?

Likely ourselves!

The Red Spider Lily makes its entrance in the fall after a good rain.

It's beauty only lasts a few short days before shriveling back as nourishment to the earth.

Though so brilliant and expressive, it has been associated with death in the Japanese culture.

A grand reminder that life is short and delicate.

To express ourselves in a show of magnificence during our moment of glory on this planet.

And may we go out with as great of purpose as we came in.

A gnarly tree root mounding above the ground.

A growing place for moss with cavities for hiding bugs and other microscopic life.

No matter how unusual, bumpy, cratered or twisted we may appear,

There are layers of benefit to our existence.

There is beauty in everything!!!.

A few pictures of bugs from my grand repertoire.
