Grateful for the Simple Things (and a Camera)

in #photography12 days ago

Somehow, I think I will be forever grateful in this life, even for the simple reasons, like photography.

Maybe it’s because I’m glad I found a hobby that keeps me extra occupied in the best way. Whenever I still have a bit of free time, I try to squeeze in photography as one of my activities. It doesn’t have to be a grand trip or a special occasion. Sometimes it’s just a quiet walk, a familiar street, a corner of the garden, or a small detail that I would’ve ignored before. But once I have my camera (or even just my phone) with me, everything becomes a little more meaningful.

I honestly don’t think I’ll ever get tired of photography. It’s fun, yes, but it’s also therapeutic. It slows my thoughts down. It helps me breathe. And it reminds me to look properly, at nature, at light, at the textures of everyday life. I love that this hobby keeps teaching me something new about my surroundings, even when I’m just in the same places I see all the time.

Lately, I’ve been quite consistent with my 365-day photo challenge, and I’m proud of that. A few days from now, I’ll be starting another year of the same challenge. I still can’t believe 2026 is coming very soon.

But I’m welcoming the new year with joy and deep appreciation for life. I feel excited, excited to keep showing up, to keep learning, and to keep capturing small moments that might otherwise disappear unnoticed.

Have a good day ahead!
