The weather is wonderful today, so I did not want to put it to waste. I went down to the garden for a short walk and, of course, brought my camera with me. It has become a routine ever since I started my Photo 365 project on Hive. I have been consistent so far and I really want to keep that going.
My theme for this project is black and white, so every day I try to learn how to create good contrast regardless of what the sky is doing. On rainy days the light can be dull, but in the photos it often turns into something dramatic, with deep shadows and soft highlights.

Today is different, it is bright and sunny, and the garden feels more alive than on those gloomy days. The flowers and leaves seem to stand out more clearly, and the textures are easier to notice. In these photos I focused on small details, a single flower shining against dark leaves, a cluster of thick hanging plants, a fern frond with repeating patterns, and even a damaged leaf that still looks beautiful in its own way.
Converting everything into black and white makes me pay more attention to shapes, lines, and light. Without color, the photos rely on texture and contrast to tell the story. I like how a simple garden walk can turn into a daily lesson about seeing things more carefully.
I am grateful for mornings like this, when the weather is kind and the garden is generous with subjects to photograph. Thank you for viewing my photos, and I hope you are having a good day too.
