This afternoon I went for another walk, and I honestly think my phone upgrade made me extra excited to shoot. It’s funny how a small change, like new collage layouts, can make everything feel fresh again. Today I wanted to test one of the new frames and see if it would work with a flower as my main subject.

While walking around my neighborhood, I noticed one of the trees already starting to bloom. It felt like perfect timing, especially since I’m still doing my 365-day photo challenge. I stopped for a bit and took my time, capturing the big flower up close, then shifting my attention to the smaller details, the buds, the leaves, the textures that usually get overlooked when I’m rushing.
I also like how black and white makes the scene feel calmer. Without color, I notice the shape of the petals more, the softness of the light, and even the contrast between the bright bloom and the darker background. The layout I used feels like a small “photo puzzle,” and I enjoyed arranging the shots into something that tells a story instead of just posting a single image.
I’ve learned that when motivation shows up, I should take advantage of it. It’s not always there, so I don’t want to take it for granted. If I feel inspired to take more photos, I’ll gladly follow that feeling.
It’s almost 2026 and we’re still getting rain showers almost every day. I’m hoping the first day of the new year will be clear.
Have a good day ahead.
