"Who would I be if I was a military Veteran?" (Photoshoot inside)

The "Who would I be..?" Project is an attempt to connect us to points of humanity. We all have stories who make us who we are. It's a hypothetical question for viewers but the portrait of my willing participants are the real life human answers to these questions.

Who would you be?

Meet @themilsedition; "Who Would I be If I was a military Veteran?"

@themilsedition is a pilar in our sacramento community. If you've had the pleasure of meeting him then you've already seen how his presence can propel you forward to a better version of yourself. He was my first "yes" answer when I proposed this project. And came with his own ideas that made his shoot go further. We got the ability to story tell in his series. Here is his photo journal. 22089093_1977840252229714_7432887957967054054_n.jpg22045733_1977840288896377_4181207294759655379_n.jpg22089989_1977840335563039_4835406645752781889_n.jpg22008120_1977840415563031_4313385935392310465_n.jpg22140867_1977840492229690_4822308573999330290_n.jpg
"There was the issue of the low points. When you have to do what you have to do to survive; you'd be surprised at what you do. There was always temp jobs but those didn't last. They'd always come in on Friday, after all the work was completed, and let you go. You have to eat. I remember cooking Hormel chili on the dashboard of my car. I was young then and ready to do whatever it would take. Thinking about doing that I didn't know if I had it in me to be homeless again. Somehow it all worked out."

"I was in a judgmental position. They were on this side of the line I didn't want to venture out to. And when I looked at my life, how I had been on so many different sides, being in the military, rough childhood, the athlete, and being homeless. I asked myself how could I not stop and listen to what these people had to offer? They were always happy. I was looking for happiness. Happiness is always right under your nose in front of you and when you're ready it's there."
