Remember Kate Middleton's wedding to Prince William? Of course you do! Well her parents had their party for their friends at... The Goring (as there wasn't enough room at the formal wedding celebrations for all the Middleton friends). The day started with photos of Kate Middleton leaving the Goring - her last few hours prior to becoming the Duchess of Cambridge. This exclusive, lovely hotel in the heart of London is far less touristy than the Ritz - the beautiful bar and gardens are full of British Ladies who lunch, business men in the know having a quick catch up meeting, and Dads taking daughters somewhere for a bar lunch and drink.

The set lunch menu is just 49 pounds which for near michelin quality is excellent value. The food is as good or better than I've had in Michelin restaurants and the service wants for nothing. The only thing that separates it is there are no amuse bouches but I totally won't hold that against them. It is a fantastic restaurant and 49 pounds amazing value for what we had. Yes wine makes it a bit steeper. But still great value.
